In The Beginning…Angelina
Posted on Mar 06, 2008 under General |Angelina Jolie was born June 4, 1975 and just 7 years later appeared in Lookin’ To Get Out, her first movie role. She began modelling in ‘91 and acted in 5 movies before marrying Johnny Lee Miller, in 1996. Although the marriage didn’t last her acting career flourished. She costarred alongside Billy Bob Thornton in Pushing Tin, Denzel Washington in The Bone Collector, and her Oscar winning role with Winona Ryder in Girl, Interrupted, all in 1999.
The following year Angelina and Billy Bob married and the year after that they adopted a 10 month old boy from Cambodia and named him Maddox Chivan Thornton Jolie. The marriage between the two actors fell apart two years after the wedding and she legally dropped the name of her estranged father, John Voight, officially becoming just Angelina Jolie.
In 2005 it becomes public that she give 1/3 of her money to charity. Angelina criticizes Hollywood actors for not sharing their wealth to the needy. Miss Jolie later becomes involved with the United Nations as a Goodwill Ambassador. Later that year Angelina stars opposite Brad Pitt in Mr. & Mrs. Smith and adopts her beautiful daughter, Zahara Marley Jolie, from Ethiopia. As well as being a single mother to two adorable children, Angelina’s acting career has soared high enough to place her in the “20 Million Club” which consists of actors that are paid $20 million or higher per movie.
The next year her relationship with Brad Pitt becomes public as he officially adopts Maddox and Zahara. Pregnancy rumors circled and were then confirmed as Brad and Angelina expanded their family with a biological daughter, Shiloh Nouvelle Jolie-Pitt, born in Namibia away from prying eyes. The saddening death of her beloved mother, Marcheline Bertrand, in 2007 was the bitter part of a bitter-sweet year. The sweet part came in the form of a fourth child from Vietnam, Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt.
